Kat's October '01 Bobcat News
updated on Sunday, August 06, 2006 09:24 PM

Hi, Bobcat Classmates!  October's News (10/7/01)

It's been a while for sure!  I didn't know that the pace of today's world could be so fast.  What's the saying, "The further I go, the behinder I get!"

Don't know about you all, but I'm barely keeping my nose above "paper level" at school this year.  Now that the first nine weeks is about over, along with the school fall carnival, which was yesterday, I hope it will slow down just a little.  It seems the first nine weeks and the last nine weeks are the toughest to get through... closing out at school is another matter.  I suppose any of you who teach would know that.

Thanks for the response to the questionnaire about having the reunions every three to four years, and your preferences.  I did hear from a half dozen people and would like to have had more response.  I forwarded the responses to Ron Crowe, so am sure we'll hear something soon.

I have updated, or so I think, the address book.  I had several mail demons to appear when I sent out that Newsletter in August.  I need to know where the following are, and if you have an address for any one of these, PLEASE send it to me.

Need Missing Bobcat address for:

Adriane Love

Cathy Alles/Plouff

Greg Sams

James Berquist

Terry Pulliam/Schield

OR if I goofed, please let me know.

In view of the recent tragedy in New York and Washington, DC, my two Language Arts Classes had interpreted a poem with their illustration.  We made a book and sent the poem along with all the illustrations and signatures to the White House.  I suppose it will go in the White House Library with all the other great things that kids send.  We're hoping to hear something from the President soon. The children were very excited, but am sure the response will take time.  I do know that some of our Bobcat friends had much concern for their loved ones who were in the area or in foreign countries when that tragedy occurred.  Continued prayers and support are a need right now for our country.

On the lighter side, thanks Rob Snowden, for sending a bit of information.  Seems Rob has had quite a "checkered career" as he stated. He has "something" to do with system's analysis which deals with freelance facilitating meetings for strategic planning, and problem solving just to mention a few things he does.  I think Rob needs to come to Georgia?  His comedy and wit, which used to get him in hot water at CHS, seemingly, has been an asset to his career.  Sounds like Rob enjoys what he is doing!

I understand that Bill Smith has a new grandson that he is most definitely proud of.  I've attached a picture of little "Jeremy" and Grandpa! And everyone is doing fine.  I suppose Bill is spoiling him and has already purchased a guitar?  Teach'em right, Bill!  Bill also has been back in touch with "Al" Kelley who is presently living in Fresno, California.  I think Al thought we'd never find him, but Bill did!  How is that broken leg after all these years?  And how exactly did that happen in the boy's bathroom at CHS?

REUNION? Haven't heard anything about Washington, DC, and it may not the best choice in light of recent happenings.  How many are planning to go to New Orleans July 2002?  Another possible place that has been mentioned was Charleston, SC.  How would that be for some?  Let me know!!  Any ideas on a place, I need to know.  Organization is a key factor in getting something together and it does take time.

OK, Bobcats, send me your thoughts and opinions.  Can't do this job without some feedback.  I really do enjoy sitting down and doing this every six to eight weeks.  Gives me a break from grading papers!  We need to keep in touch with the world situation such as it is.  I look forward to hearing from you soon.  In the meantime, take care and WRITE!
